Unstoppable LearningMath

Every great mind started somewhere.

A Grade 4 math adventure, starting with fractions. Pick a friend and learn one idea at a time.

The path

One idea at a time, all the way through.

Fractions in small, single ideas called atoms. The same path with every companion.
  1. In development

    Find your starting point

Placement is being built to find where each learner is ready to begin, with no grades and no answers shown while it checks.

  2. Learn it all the way through

We show you, then you try it, and many lessons stretch the idea into new forms. Every lesson plays in full, in the author’s order.

  3. A miss is a clue

You see the right answer and the reason, counted out on the picture, and your first answer is kept.

  4. In development

    Practice that comes back

The engine we’re building brings each new idea back for short practice on days 2, 3 and 5.

  5. In development

    Reviews right on time

The engine is designed to space each idea’s reviews through the school year, before it’s likely to slip.

Inside a lesson

Watch a lesson teach.

Every picture below is drawn by the same figure engine the lessons use. Scroll through steps modeled on the fractions lessons, and try the questions yourself.

  1. 1ShowWatch

The picture proves what the words say.

Lessons open by showing the idea. Each animation acts out the reason the narration gives, in step with the words, before any question is asked.

Drawn by the app’s own figure engine
    Learn · Equal partsShow

Watch how the whole units are split.

One, two, three, four. Four parts in each whole unit.

  2. 2TryYour turn

    Then it’s your turn.

Type an answer and press Check. Get it wrong and the picture counts out the answer straight away, while your first answer stays on the record.

Your first answer is the one that’s kept
    Learn · Equal partsTry

How many parts are in each whole unit?

  3. 3ExplainYour turn

    Say how you know.

Some questions ask for the reason, not just the answer. In the app, learners say or type it, and it’s checked by fixed rules, not AI. An unclear reason gets a nudge, never a grade.

    Learn · Same-size partsTry

    Are these halves?

  4. 4StretchWatch

The same idea, in new shapes.

The idea comes back on lines, bars and circles, so it’s about equal parts, not one particular picture.

    One idea, many forms
    Learn · Equal partsStretch

The same idea, in a new form.

Five equal parts in each whole unit, whatever the shape.

  5. 5SymbolWatch

    Symbols come after the picture.

The fraction is built from what was just counted: the parts counted over the parts in each whole unit.

Every number has a picture behind it

    Now go the other way.

You just watched a picture become a fraction. Now shade the picture to match one: tap the line or use the arrow keys, then check.

The learning engineIn development

Built to plan what comes next.

We’re building an engine that plans each day from what a learner has shown. These parts exist in code and are being tested. They aren’t on the learner path yet.

  • A starting point in each strand

Placement looks for the first idea a learner doesn’t know yet in each part of fractions, and shows no answers while it checks.

  • Practice that comes back

A new idea returns on a learner’s 2nd, 3rd and 5th days in the app, with a check on day 5. Only days they use the app count.

  • A miss comes back later

A missed question returns after three others, not straight away, so it’s a real second look.

  • Reviews on their own schedule

Each idea gets its own review timing, designed to bring it back before it’s likely to slip, through the school year.

  • “Learned” means evidence

An idea counts as learned when the model has strong evidence, not when a score crosses a percentage.

The journey

Walk the path with a friend.

Learners pick one of six great minds from history to keep them company. Each stop below happens in a companion’s world, and the math is the same with every one.

  • EinsteinThe big-question asker
  • AdaThe imaginative thinker
  • RamanujanThe thoughtful discoverer
  • HypatiaThe open-minded questioner
  • NewtonThe curious observer
  • EmmyThe original thinker
  • Picked by the learner
  • Same math with every friend
  • A new clubhouse scene each day
